Horse Info

Horses are used in a wide variety of sport competitions and non-competitive recreational pursuits, as well as in working activities such as agricultures, entertainment, and therapy. Historically horses were used in warfare, from which a wide variety of riding and driving (my favorite) techniques were developed, using many different styles of equipment and methods of control. Some products are derived from horses like pharmaceuticals extracted from the urine of pregnant mares (yum!) The horses anatomy enables them to make use of a great deal of speed to escape predators and they have a strong fight-or-flight instinct. Horses are able to sleep both standing up and lying down. .

Horses of various ages:

*Foal: a horse of either sex that is less than one year old.
*Yearling: a horse of either sex that's age is between one and two years old.

*Filly: a female horse under the age of four.
*Mare: a female horse that's four years old and older.
*Stallion: a non-castrated male horse
*Gelding: a castrated male horse.
